UCTV STUDENT FILM FESTIVAL

MISSION STATEMENT

UConn Student Television is excited to announce it's first annual UCTV Film Festival, a celebration of creativity and stoytelling through the medium of film. Scheduled for Sunday, April 21, 2024, from 11 am to 3 pm, this event promises to be an engaging and dynamic showcase of emerging talents in filmmaking.

We aim to foster collaboration and celebrate the diverse talents of emerging student filmmakers through hosting this event. This year's festival will be held on UConn's Storrs Campus, located in the Lawrence McHugh Building Room 102. University students from Connecticut schools are encouraged and eligible to submit their films, regardless of experience.

AWARDS

Submissions will be eligible either for the Audience Choice or Judges' Choice Awards.

Winners in these categories will receive promotion of their work, including a direct link to their film on our platforms and certificates of accomplishment.

Only University of Connecticut Students will be eligible for the Judges' Choice Award. All other student submissions will be eligible for the Audience Choice Award. When uploading project to FilmFreeway, add a copy of your student ID under files & attachments.

RULES & TERMS

All submissions must be made by students currently enrolled in a University or College. STUDENT VERIFICATION WILL BE REQUIRED AT CHECK IN AND PROOF OF ENROLLMENT OR A COPY OF STUDENT ID IS REQUIRED AT TIME OF SUBMISSION.

Only University of Connecticut Students will be eligible for the Judges' Choice Award. All other student submissions will be eligible for the Audience Choice Award.

Students not currently enrolled at the University of Connecticut will be subject to a $10 entry fee to cover the cost of the Audience’s Choice Grand Prize.

ALL SUBMISSIONS ARE SUBJECT TO 10 MINUTE MAXIMUM

UCTV reserves the right to not show any films deemed inappropriate, offensive, or violent that might violate rules of UConn's Student Conduct.

NON-UCONN STUDENT SUBMISSIONS
We are thrilled to welcome submissions via the user-friendly FilmFreeway platform and Marketplace for Non-UConn students . The submission deadline is April 8, 2024, at 5:00 pm (EST), allowing ample time for aspiring artists to showcase their talents. Candidates will be infomed and information by Monday, April 15, 2024. Please note that we do not accept submissions via YouTube. There is an entry fee for students outside of the University of Connecticut. This is a flat fee of $10. Numerous submissions are allowed per film maker.
